• Blough Family Tree
  The family tree includes 13 generations of Blough families (dates and places of births, marriages, deaths, and burials) starting with Johannes Blough who was born about 1690.  He was married to an unknown wife sometime before 1710.  The Blough family married into the Saylor family when siblings Jacob Blough II and Elizabeth Blough married siblings Catherine Or Caterina Saylor on July 1, 1798 and Hans John Saylor on January 2, 1791, respectively.  Posted 11/04/2001

• Burgi Family Tree
  The family tree includes 13 generations of Burgi/Berkey families (dates and places of births, marriages, deaths, and burials) starting with Leonard Burgi who was born about 1678.  He married Anna Catherine Facesh about 1709 in Switzerland.  She was born about 1682.  The Burgi family married into the Saylor family when Caterina Berkey married John Saylor on October 27, 1761.  Posted 11/03/2001

• Lichty Family Tree
  The family tree includes 11 generations of Lichty families (dates and places of births, marriages, deaths, and burials) starting with Christian Lichty who was born about 1740.  He was married to an unknown wife sometime before 1759.  She was born about 1740.  The Lichty family married into the Saylor family when Elizabeth Lichty married John J.   Although not part of direct ancestral lines, I have collected information on several other prominent Somerset County, Pennsylvania families that married into the Saylor family:  Fike, Flickinger, Gnaegi (also spelled Gnagey), Herschberger, Hochstetler (various spellings), Livengood (also spelled Liebendgut), and Miller.   Updated 11/04/2001

• Reitz Family Tree
  The family tree includes 8 generations of Saylor/Sayler/Seiler families (dates and places of births, marriages, deaths, and burials) starting with George Reitz who was born January 7, 1809 and died: July 13, 1890.  He married Mary Buechly.  She was born March 25, 1820 and died April 27, 1915.  The Reitz family married into the Saylor family when Margaret Reitz married Simon Peter Saylor on February 28, 1901 in Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa.  Posted 10/26/2001

• Saylor Family Tree
  The family tree includes 14 generations of Saylor/Sayler/Seiler families (dates and places of births, marriages, deaths, and burials) starting with Joseph Seiler who was born about 1645.   He is the grandfather of Jacob Seiler (Saylor) and Daniel Seiler (Sayler), Sr. who emigrated from Germany to the United States.
  
  The Saylor family are descendants of Jacob Seiler who was born January 30, 1715 in Obermelingen, Germany/Switzerland and died April 15, 1793 in Elk Lick Township, Somerset County, Pennsylvania.  He married Magdalina Stald on March 19, 1739 in Fishpar, Germany.  She was born in 1718 in Switzerland and died January 27, 1784 in Somerset County, Pennsylvania.  Jacob emigrated from Germany to the United States in 1749 and by 1774 he purchased a farm in Somerset County which becomes known as Saylor Hill.  The farm remained in the family until about 1900 when it is sold to a coal company.  Jacob changed the spelling of his last name from Seiler to Saylor and his descendants consistently spell their last name Saylor.  The majority of Jacob's descendants remained in the Somerset County, Pennsylvania area until after the Civil War when several branches moved to the Midwest.  By 1900, the Saylors were scattered over almost every state in the union.
  
  The Sayler/Saylor family are descendants of Daniel Seiler, Sr. who was born June 15, 1708 in Sembach, Germany and died between  1778 and 1789 in Frederick County, Maryland.  He married an Anna Unknown about 1735.  She died some time after 1791.  Daniel emigrated from Germany to the United States some time before 1752 and by 1761 he purchased a farm in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.  In 1772,  Daniel sold his farm to two of his sons, John and Christian, and moved with his wife, one son, Daniel Jr., and his daughters to Frederick County, Maryland.  Daniel Jr. stayed in Fredrick County, Maryland and his descendants are the Maryland branch of  the family consistently spelling their last name Saylor.  Christian eventually followed his father to Maryland and finally settled in Ohio and his descendants are the Ohio branch of the family.   John stayed on the farm in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and both John's and Christian's descendants consistently spell their last name Sayler.  Updated 10/26/2001
