McMahan Family
Information:
Ball Family Tree
The family tree includes 12 generations of Ball families (dates
and places of births, marriages, deaths, and burials) starting with
John Ball who was born in 1684 in England and died in September 22, 1767 in
Richland Bucks County, Pennsylvania. He married
Catharine Lester on June 28, 1710 In Abington, Bucks County, Pennsylvania,
She was born in 1691in
Chester, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania and died on March 28, 1764 in
Richland, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The Ball family married into the
McMahan family when siblings Susan and Josiah Ball married siblings William
and Mary Ann McMahan on March 23, 1848 and April 19, 1856 (respectively) in
Carroll County, Indiana. It is believed that they are the same family
that started the Ball Canning Company in 1880. Further research is
being done to determine if the five Ball brothers that started the company
are in any way related to this family.

Condron Family Tree
The family tree includes 11 generations of Condron families (dates
and places of births, marriages, deaths, and burials) starting
with James Condron, Sr. who was born about 1732 in New Castle County, Delaware.
He married Johanna Allen on May 5, 1754 in Wilmington, New Castle County,
Delaware. She was born 1734 in New Castle County, Delaware. The Condron family married into the Ball family when
Plain Wilkinson married Peter Ball on:
January 02, 1737/38 in Wrightstown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

McMahan Family Tree
The family tree includes 9 generations of McMahan families (dates
and places of births, marriages, deaths, and burials) starting with Robert McMahan born
August 31, 1767 in Bedford County, Pennsylvania and died after 1840 in Indiana. He
was and married to Margaret Unknown who was born
1751-1760 and died 1830-1840. At this time, it is has not been
verified that Robert McMahan is the
father of Joseph McMahan.
Family lore states that a William McMahan, who was born in Virginia and
served in the Revolutionary War, is either the father or grandfather of
Joseph McMahan. However, a Robert McMahan shows up on the same 1830
United States Census in Ross County, Ohio as Joseph McMahan and is most
likely his father. In either case, Joseph McMahan was born about April
1, 1791 in Pennsylvania
and died on August 30, 1850 in Bringhurst, Carroll County, Indiana. He married Rachel Bird on March 21, 1822 in
Ross County, Ohio. She was born in August 24, 1804 in
Pennsylvania and died after November 14, 1888 in Carroll County, Indiana.

Stang/Stong Family Tree
The family
tree includes 12 generations of Stang/Stong families
(dates and places of births, marriages, deaths, and burials) starting with
Hans Jacob Stang who was born about 1687 in Germany. Hans Jacob Stang
arrived in the colonies in 1709 with his wife and 3 children (unknown
names). They came from the Palatinate in the southern part of Germany,
with a stop in Holland to acquire enough funds to pay their way to America.
They stayed in Bucks County, Pennsylvania for a while, then settled in the
Mohawk and Tuscarora valleys in Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania.
Having spent considerable time in Holland before coming to the states, they
called themselves Dutch rather than Deutsch (German) and by the late 1770's
or early 1780's, the name Stang was replaced with Stong.
One of Hans Jacob Stang's sons had at least 2 sons, Sylvester (Seward) Stong and Adam Stong, Sr. There may also be a Walter Stong and a Sebald Stong. Sylvester (Seward) Stong and his family moved to Ontario, Canada in 1800 in voluntary exile after the American Revolution. In 1816, his son Daniel Stong built a log cabin near Black Creek in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. In 1960 the log cabin, along with the other Stong buildings, became a historical site and Black Creek Pioneer Village was built around it. Stong College at York University in Toronto, Ontario, Canada was dedicated on November 21, 1970, to this pioneer family who, for over 130 years, farmed the land on which York University now stands.
Adam Stong, Sr. along with 3 of his children Daniel, Adam Jr., and Jacob, were considered early pioneers of Tell City, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania having settled in the area some time before 1790. This line of the Stong family married into the McMahan family when Sarah E. Stong married Charles Martin McMahan on June 9, 1881 in Carroll County, Indiana. Updated 04/15/2008
Wilkinson Family Tree
The family tree includes 16 generations of Wilkinson families (dates
and places of births, marriages, deaths, and burials) starting with
Lawrence Wilkinson who was born about 1580 in Harperley House, Lanchester,
County Durham, England.
His grandson, also named Lawrence Wilkinson, was a Lieutenant in the
army of Charles I, but was taken prisoner by Scotch and Parliamentary troops
in the surrender of Newcastle-on-Tyne on October 22, 1644. He was deprived
of his property and obtained permission from Lord Fairfax to emigrate to
America about 1645/47. He was granted lands and settled in Providence,
Rhode Island in 1652. The Wilkinson family married into the Ball
family when Plain Wilkinson married Peter Ball on January 02, 1737/38 in
Wrightstown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
